THE LEGACY OF GHODKE SWEETS
The story of Ghodke Sweets began in 1937, when Shri Harishchandra M. Ghodke laid the foundation of M. R. Ghodke Sweets, named in honor of his father, Shri Mudhoji Ramji Ghodke — fondly remembered as M. R. Ghodke. The first shop opened its doors at Ganpati Chowk, Laxmi Road, Pune, and quickly became known for its uncompromising focus on purity, freshness, and quality.
Specialties like Pedhas and Barfis soon became household favorites, earning the trust and love of generations. At a time when Pune was deeply rooted in conservative traditions and religious customs, Shri Harishchandra M. Ghodke rose to the challenge of meeting the refined tastes of the city’s Marathi community. His dedication to quality and authenticity built a brand that symbolized trust.
Expanding this legacy, a second outlet was launched in 1980 at Ketkar Path. In 1987, a new chapter began when N. H. Ghodke established a proprietary branch on Paud Road, continuing the heritage under the same esteemed brand name.
Today, Ghodke Sweets stands as a timeless symbol of tradition, quality, and cultural pride — delighting sweet lovers across generations.
M. R. Ghodke Sweets is now transitioning into Ghodke Sweets, which carries forward the same legacy ahead by continuing to curate variety of flavorful sweets that suit the taste of the foodies. Our sweets and savories are made from finest ingredients and raw materials that are specially procured from the best manufacturers across the country.
